An opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to work as part of the team at Palliative Care Australia (PCA). PCA is a dynamic and forward-thinking national peak organisation whose mission is to influence, foster and promote the delivery of quality care at the end of life for all.
The National Policy Manager will have key responsibility for:
• the development, implementation and effective advocacy of evidence based policy;
• consultation and liaison with relevant stakeholders to inform policy development;
• effective ongoing engagement with the political process, key government agencies, and other stakeholders
Through these functions and responsibilities the successful incumbent will represent and maintain the interests of PCA and the palliative care community.
The position works closely with the National Communications Manager and is therefore closely aligned with internal and external communication activities.
To be successful in this role, the applicant will have the demonstrated ability to develop and implement health policy and to drive change agendas in a policy environment; experience of political and government processes; superior research and analysis skills, and the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholder groups.
