The practicalities and challenges of sustainable and resilient healthcare

Location: Deakin, Australian Capital Territory
Venue: Cafe EQ, 70 Kent Street
Date: 07 May 2018 6:00pm to 07 May 2018 08:00pm

ACHSM and AHHA are pleased to invite you to join us for an evening forum with Dr David Pencheon.

Health and care systems around the world face multiple, frequently interconnected, challenges and opportunities – from climate change to new forms of technology to inequity.

Our key task, then, is how to effectively transition towards high-quality, sustainable and resilient 21st century health and care systems that make much better use of our resources and capitals.

During his visit to Australia, David will share the learning - the successes and mistakes - from his experience of a decade in a senior role in the NHS, trying to transform the health and care sector in England. He will draw on international approaches such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and seminal legislation, for example the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 as examples of potential paths towards such a system.
