Program Officer - Digital Health

The Program Officer Digital Health will support general practice, allied health, specialists and pharmacy with meaningful use of My Health Record and Secure Message Delivery in the Nepean Blue Mountains region. This role will also support the implementation of change and adoption activities for digital health in targeted sectors.

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and disseminate information and resources that will support a greater understanding and use of the My Health Record and Secure Message Delivery for health providers. 
  • Provide up-skilling/education for health providers, general practice and pharmacy staff in relation to the meaningful use of Digital Solutions.
  • Liaise with NBMPHN's other programs in relation to facilitating engagement activities.
  • Contribute towards the overall development and reporting for primary care on the uptake of the My Health Record through the NBMPHN's data access, recording and reporting systems including keeping the customer relations database up to date.
  • Develop change and adoption strategy work plans for digital health in allocated specialty areas.

Essential Criteria

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills able to be demonstrated across a variety of mediums e.g. telephone, electronic (email) and face to face. 
  • Experience liaising with general practitioners and/or other healthcare providers or similar customer focus that can be transferred to the provider setting.
  • Ability to discern relevant information from a variety of sources and disseminate appropriately in an easy to understand manner.
  • Highly demonstrable ability to manage reporting and recording of activities with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to set priorities, and plan and act to achieve desired outcomes within the specified timeframe.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge in the use of data bases, Microsoft office suite, data security and general practice software.
  • Ability to acquire new skills as required in support of program activities.

Desirable Criteria

  • Clinical qualifications and clinical experience working within the Primary Healthcare setting. 
  • Experience working with Health Providers. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of eHealth, particularly the National eHealth Strategy and the My Health Record system.
  • Experience in delivering training and information to individuals and/or small groups.
