Oral and Dental Health

Good oral health is essential to overall health and well-being. The efficient use of the skills of all oral health professionals is essential to improve access to care.

Oral health care remains disconnected from the health care system.

A strategic policy approach is required to achieve a universal access program within five years including:

  • Ongoing commitment to the support of public dental services
  • Scheduled renegotiation of funding agreements prior to expiration
  • A performance and reporting structure focusing on outcomes rather than throughput.
