AHHA Health Forum

Welcome to the AHHA’s Health Forum page to communicate with our Networks

The AHHA establishes Membership Networks to:
• ensure expert input to our health policies, research and advocacy programs
• create stimulating forums for learning through knowledge sharing, analysis and review.

Our Networks bring together members with a common interest in a particular sector and/or or policy.  It is through sharing information and experiences with these groups that the AHHA ensures our policies reflect your views.

At the same time, members benefit from the opportunity to learn from each other and to develop both professionally and personally.

Network collaboration involves phone hookups, face-to-face Policy Think Tanks and through our ‘AHHA Health Forum’ website page.

The AHHA Secretariat convenes all Networks and keeps members updated on activities and relevant information.  Networks nominate a Chair and, if required, a small working group to assist in drafting policy position papers and in ongoing advocacy.

Join a Network to:

• directly shape AHHA’s health policy through identifying visionary ideas and providing the evidence to underpin research proposals and position papers
• learn from colleagues - sharing ideas, theories, models and strategies across settings and professions
• participate in a high–level advocacy and media strategies promoting implementation of our policies at state and national levels
• work collaboratively with other Associations and stakeholders.

Current activities being undertaken by our standing Sector Networks are:

Acute care – working with hospitals and Hospital Networks on National Health Reform financing changes, performance standards and measures and integrated models of care
Community and Primary Healthcare - working with Medicare Locals and Community Health Services on ensuring sustainability and integrated models of care (in collaboration with the Australian Medicare Local Alliance)
