AHHA x BCG Global Insights Seminar Series: Delivering health care value through digital patient journeys at Intermountain Healthcare

Along with a senior executive from Intermountain Healthcare, Dr Josh Kellar MD, PhD, will describe the process of designing and implementing digital patient journeys at Intermountain Healthcare to deliver better patient outcomes and experiences at lower system cost. He will share lessons from the transition to digital and conditions for success. He will also describe the post-COVID potential for digital and telehealth transformation from a value-based health care perspective. 


Dr Josh Kellar MD, PhD
Josh Kellar is a partner in BCG's Chicago office working in health care and strategy with a focus on advanced analytics, value-based delivery of health care, and application of new digital technologies within health care.  He has experience working across health care sectors, including work with integrated payer provider systems, academic medical centres, Biopharma R&D, and Medical Technology companies.

Prior to joining BCG, Josh completed a PhD in materials science and engineering and a postdoctoral fellowship in oncology at Northwestern University where he focused on the use of carbon nanomaterials for targeted drug delivery and genomic sequencing. He also holds a MA in poetry from Boston University and a BS from Georgetown University where he majored in physics and English.

Kevan Mabbutt

Kevan Mabbutt is the Senior Vice President and Chief Consumer Officer of Intermountain Healthcare. He began serving in this position in August 2017 and brings more than 25 years of consumer-focused experience to the role. He leads Intermountain’s efforts to identify and deliver on what consumers need and expect from healthcare. This includes leading the development and rollout of My Health+, Intermountain’s digital front door, which empowers patients and members to find, manage and pay for care in a convenient and seamless way. He also leads Intermountain’s marketing, brand, and communications function.

Prior to Intermountain, Mr Mabbutt led global experience and insight at The Walt Disney Company (including design and launch of Shanghai Disney Resort, MDX portal and Magic Bands). He also held marketing and strategy leadership roles in media and entertainment in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He was born in London, grew up in Africa, and received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from Cambridge University in England. He relocated to the US with his family in 2005.
