Welcome back to the 2nd podcast of the 2022 John Deeble Lecture, commemorating the life achievements of Professor John Deeble, co-founder of Australia’s universal healthcare system, Medicare.

The Panel Discussion was recorded live, following the 2022 John Deeble Lecture held on the 26th of October 2022 and featured special guest speakers: Mr Michael Brennan (Productivity Commission), Mr Michael Pervan (TAS Government), Ms Yasmin King (Skills IQ), Prof Lisa Nissen (UQ) and Adj AProf Paul Burgess (NT Health).

The panel reflected on the complexities of the health workforce and the ways we deliver health workforce policy in Australia.

The Health Advocate Podcast Episode 28 - The 2022 John Deeble Lecture

The 2022 John Deeble Lecture was presented at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia on the 26th of October 2022 by the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association.

The 2nd John Deeble Lecture, was delivered by Mr Michael Brennan, Chair of the Productivity Commission, and was followed by a panel discussion featuring prominent health policy leaders from around Australia and will be released as a follow-up episode of The Health Advocate Podcast.

The Health Advocate Podcast Episode 16 - The 2019 John Deeble Lecture

The inaugural John Deeble Lecture was presented at Parliament House on the 18th of October 2019 by the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association. In the inaugural lecture, Professor Nigel Edwards (CEO Nuffield Trust) considered some of the more common dysfunctions in health policy formation and implementation, and offered possible solutions to these issues.
