Western Health Alliance Limited is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in 2015. The company operates the Western NSW Primary Health Network, which is one of 31 PHNs across Australia funded by the Australian Government. Established in July 2015, WNSW PHN’s key objectives are increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of primary health care services for patients in western NSW, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and improving the coordination of care to ensure that patients receive the right care in the right place and at the right time. Our PHN serves a large geographic region covering rural and remote western NSW. More information on WNSW PHN is available on our website

The board of directors comprises nine members with primary health care practice, policy, legal, business, and financial experience as well as knowledge of the region’s community and healthcare sector. Western Health Alliance Limited is governed by a skills-based Board consisting of Directors who have the appropriate competencies, skills and experience aligned to the Skills and Attributes Matrix.

The preferred Candidate will need to agree to reference checks, credit checks, police checks and vulnerable persons checks.

The WHAL Board is now inviting expressions of interest from suitable candidates for a director to be appointed to the WHAL board, filling the vacancy created by the planned resignation of one director.

The Board is seeking expressions of interest for this vacancy from persons who have appropriate skills and experience aligned to the Skills and Attributes Matrix and a demonstrated association with the Western and / or Far West NSW communities
