Clinical Advisor – Primary Mental Health Care

Job Description:

This role will provide clinical advice and leadership to support Wentworth Healthcare with meeting the objectives of the Primary Mental Health program.

The position provides a clinical lens in the identification and prioritisation of strategies to be implemented through primary care. This position will assist with the meaningful interpretation and application of data and information to help shape our priorities and services ensuring services are patient centred.

The Clinical Advisor will provide leadership in the application of best practice for safe and high quality delivery of mental health care in relation to the services we contract, and therefore demonstrated experience in implementing clinical governance and or quality improvement frameworks is required, including clinical review and or supervision in a mental health care setting.

Engagement terms negotiable. Estimated time commitment 4-6 hours per week. Remote working supported.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in mental health and experience as a senior practicing allied health clinician in mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing clinical governance / quality improvement frameworks, including clinical review or supervision in a mental health care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation.
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary mental health reform within the primary mental health care context.
  • Ability to utilise information technology tools in particular the Microsoft suite and tools to enable remote working.
