Gold Coast Hospital & Health Service (HHS) is looking to appoint to an Executive Director Mental Health and Specialist Services position. Gold Coast Health provides public health care to more than 500,000 people living in one of Australia’s most desired lifestyle locations. Gold Coast University Hospital has undergone a major expansion of public health services and is one of Queensland's largest clinical teaching and research facilities, with significant growth and demand for Mental Health and Specialist Services.

 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Gold Coast HHS, you will lead the transformation of services to deliver services that will meet the increasing demand and availability of finite resources, whilst establishing strong business governance which promotes a commitment to evidence based and transparent decision making. Critical to your success will be your strategic leadership skills and your ability to develop and support the clinical teams. Your leadership and people management skills must recognise and transcend the interdependency of clinical service provision with other divisions, roles and key stakeholders (internal and external).  This position is responsible for direct and indirect supervision for 628 FTE and is accountable for the $93.31m annual operating budget for the division.

 

A significant opportunity exists for the appointment of a senior executive who can demonstrate both inspirational leadership abilities and sound management experience. Your senior management experience in a large, complex health service and a relevant qualification in health will be highly valued.

To be the successful candidate you will be skilled in:

  • Demonstrated executive leadership capability, with a successful track record in reforming large and complex health services to deliver required strategic and operational results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading best practice and contemporary issues in the field.
  • Sophisticated change management expertise, including a proven ability to positively transition an organisational culture, and to successfully engage a diverse constituency to inspire and deliver improved performance.
  • Highly developed strategic thinking ability, with proven capacity to plan, create and evaluate innovative systems, in order to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the development, implementation and review of corporate governance systems to ensrue the delivery of strategic and operational goals.
