Job Description:

The Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for leading, developing and implementing a strategic approach to the management of risk, compliance activities, and fraud prevention across the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS).

The Risk and Compliance Manager is a key role in assuring risk and compliance management activities across the WBHHS.  The position has direct line management of the WBHHS Compliance Manager role and together these positions provide critical advice and support in ensuring the development and implementation of a robust risk management, compliance management and fraud control frameworks, policies and procedures within the WBHHS.

Skills and Experience:

•    Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practice of risk management, compliance management, and fraud control within a statutory health environment. 
•    Capacity to lead and deliver high level advice, expertise and skill in regard to good governance, risk management, compliance management practices and processes in a large public sector health service.
•    High level analytical and strategic problem solving skills and an ability to consider reviews, data and audit evidence to coordinate and prepare the organisational response and implementation plan. 
•    Demonstrated commitment and success in the planning, implementation, review and management of change and process redesign of varying complexity and scope within a large complex organisation.
•    Highly developed and proven negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills with a strong capacity to communicate complex issues such as relevant compliance systems and processes, audit and assurance.
•    Ability to utilise communication and consultation skills to present messages in a clear and concise manner, with proven capacity to work collaboratively with, and provide sound advice to Board, executive and senior management staff and other health professionals.
•    Proven project management skills including demonstrated capacity to scope and organise complex tasks, document and deliver results within identified timeframes.
•    Establish and maintain credibility through developing, maintaining, and managing networks and alliances (internal and external) as efficient and effective mechanisms for achieving the strategic and operational goals of the organisation.
