Assistant Director of Clinical Services

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services Medical is responsible, in partnership with the Director of Medical Services, for providing professional leadership to nursing, medical and other staff. The incumbent has operational responsibility for the services of Surgical Services including (Surgery Inpatients, Perioperative Suite and Pre-Admission Unit), Intensive Care, Emergency Department, Toxicology, The Melanoma Unit and the Junior Medical Staff. Of note – there may be some changes to operational portfolio.

Selection Criteria

Essential: • Registered Nurse authorised to practise by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Essential: • Tertiary qualifications in Health Management or equivalent
Essential: • Experience at a senior level in the management of a service, department or program and capacity to successfully manage conflicting demands
Essential: • Demonstrated capacity to negotiate and implement change
Essential: • Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a member of or manage a multidisciplinary team
Essential: • Understanding and commitment to the principles of Quality Management
Essential: • Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Calvary and the ability and desire to uphold these principles.
