Position description:
Working with AHHA’s research and policy teams, the Research Officer is responsible for contributing to AHHA research and communications on a range of health issues, as well as supporting health policy projects.
The role includes a variety of tasks including research, writing and creating professionally formatted publications, providing administrative support for projects, meetings and events and liaising on behalf of the organisation with a wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will need to be a motivated self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They need to have excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise activities, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Key duties:
- Assist in the preparation of a range of research papers and AHHA communications
- Provide projects and events support
- Prepare correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
- Supporting general maintenance/day-to-day activity of the AHHA workplace
- Promote AHHA membership and maintain relationships with existing members
- Any other duties as directed the by Chief Executive
Required skills:
- Qualification in a relevant research or policy-related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High level proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent planning, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Ability to initiate activities and prioritise multiple tasks with minimum supervision
- High level of attention to detail.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a small team and engage with a broad range of stakeholders including members, government and non-government organisations.
Desirable:
- Experience working in health systems research, knowledge exchange and quality improvement projects
