Senior Podiatrist HP4

The Senior Podiatrist role will be required to deliver a high level of clinical podiatry services based on current Best Practice Guidelines to consumers of Queensland Health, including clients with chronic disease and ‘high risk’ feet such as amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease and gross foot deformities. In addition provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced staff and direction to therapy assistants undertaking podiatric tasks.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Your Role’, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

Clinical Ability

  • Demonstrate a competent level of knowledge and skill in Podiatry to provide professional advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply self-evaluation of routine Podiatry assessments and treatments and a willingness to seek guidance from peers or other health professionals to perform more complex Podiatry clinical services.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate evidence-based research into routine practice.

Team Participation/Communication

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team, including other health professionals, colleagues and community agencies as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply effective written and verbal communication skills relating to the provision of professional services.

 Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage workload and contribute to quality and clinical service improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical practice supervision and direction to less experienced practitioners, students and assistant/support staff.
  • Actively engaged in maintaining and developing own professional standards through on-going professional development and supervision.
