Stakeholder Engagement Specialist – Health & Community Services

Seeking a stakeholder engagement specialist to lead projects in Vocational Education & Training across health & community services sectors.

SkillsIQ is a Skills Service Organisation that supports a range of Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) to develop national Training Package Products that meet current and future skills needs of industry. SkillsIQ is also involved in conducting research activities and projects on key topics impacting Vocational Education and Training (VET), workforce development and skills issues for the people-facing industries (e.g. Health, Community Services, Local Government, Hospitality, Retail, Tourism, Sports & Recreation etc.).

We are looking for a Skills Engagement Executive to join the team, specialising in the Health and Community Services sectors. This role is responsible for ensuring the continual development and management of relationships with stakeholders, including industry, government, VET sector and others as required. It is responsible for management of stakeholder engagement via a number of designated Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) across various industry sectors, supporting their activities as per contractual requirements.

This may involve management of committee meetings and associated administrative functions, writing reports and forecast documents, project management of training package product and skills standard development, and facilitating stakeholder consultation across Australia.

While the role is based in Sydney, some interstate travel will be required.

Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain professional and productive working relationships with IRC members and the wider stakeholder network
  • Provide administrative and project support relevant to the work of designated IRCs and in accordance with established Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and IRC Operating Framework
  • Undertake the required industry engagement and research to develop, on behalf of IRCs, key documents including Cases for Change, Industry Skills Forecasts and Cases for Endorsement
  • Actively maintain high level knowledge and awareness of industry priorities, changes and challenges
  • Plan, implement and monitor training package development projects and ensure requirements of the IRC, Case for Change and relevant Activity Order are met
  • Plan and facilitate industry consultation and engagement activities inclusive of national workshops, face to face meetings, webinars and teleconferences
  • Prepare communication content to promote the work of SkillsIQ and designated IRCs inclusive of, but not limited to, newsletter articles, website updates and promotional content for use in internal and external publications.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Vocational Education and Training system
  • Understanding of workforce issues in either the Health or Community Services sectors
  • Exceptional project management abilities
  • Outstanding communication and facilitation skills
  • Highly developed reporting and writing skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and self-management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office software applications (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
