Australians will vote with their teeth

Sunday, August 15, 2010

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) urged both major parties to commit to a public dental program as part of their election platforms and end the growing dental care crisis in our society.

The AHHA is the peak national body representing public hospitals, area health services, community health centres and public aged care providers, including public dental services.

"The Australian community cares about access to dental services. However, both the major parties have remained silent on what they intend to do about oral and dental health, particularly for those in most need and who can least afford care," " Ms Prue Power, Executive Director, said today.
