Supporting rural Medicare Locals  - Opportunities and challenges for integrated rural health care

Sunday, 7 April 2013
9.45am – 3.15pm
Adelaide Convention Centre

Rural health care is changing at the frontline through Medicare Locals. These primary health care oganisations bring to rural communities a new approach to local health services, links with local hospitals and improvements to service needs.

There are 26 rural Medicare Locals ready to make the connections and changes needed with local hospitals for the benefit of rural communities Australia-wide.

Supporting these developments are the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA), National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA) and Australian Medicare Local Alliance (AML Alliance) which have a strong interest in optimising the links between Medicare Locals (MLs) and Local Hospital/Health Networks (LHNs).
