Breast Care Nurse Workforce Survey - SA & NT Teleconference

Date: 05 November 2014 7:00pm to 05 November 2014 08:00pm

The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association is currently undertaking a breast care nurse needs assessment study for the McGrath Foundation. The purpose of the study is to identify the level of Breast Care Nurse (BCN) services required throughout Australia. Information from this project will be used to inform the McGrath Foundation’s expansion strategy which will identify key gaps and priority areas requiring BCN services.  The project lead is Professor Patsy Yates, Head, School of Nursing, Queensland University of Technology,

The McGrath Foundation was co-founded by Jane McGrath and her cricketing husband Glenn, after Jane’s initial recovery from breast cancer. The Foundation’s objectives are to raise money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia, and increase breast awareness in young Australian women.  To inform the work of the McGrath Foundation, an initial study was undertaken in 2009/10 to determine the demand for Breast Care Nurses in Australia. With the assistance of JustHealth Consultants, the findings of that initial study are being updated.

Organisations and breast care nurses are invited provide further feedback through face-to-face or telephone focus groups.

Participation in the focus group is voluntary, but your input will be highly valuable.

Our team looks forward to meeting you.
