AHHA provided the following submission to the IHPA Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Public Hospital Services 2021‑22. The submission focuses on the development of alternative funding models advocating strongly for value-based healthcare approaches. The respose highlights the need for funding arrangements that facilitate alignment across care pathways and providers to maximise value for money in public investments and achieve better outcomes for patients, funders, and the healthcare system.

The importance of recognising the rapid developments occurring in technology, data and artificial intelligence were also highlighted, with AHHA advocating for alternative funding models that promote equity, coordination, cross jurisdictional consistency, integration, and support for implementation across all areas of healthcare delivery.
