AHHA Submission to the Standing Committee On Health, Aged Care and Sport Inquiry into the New Drugs and Novel Medical Technologies Approval Processes

Alison Verhoeven

AHHA provided the following submission to The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Sport inquiry into the approval processes for new drugs and novel medical technologies in Australia. Recognising the fragmentation of new technology assessment and implementation, AHHA’s submission outlines the need for a new technology assessment approach that prioritises value-based health care to drive overall improvements in patient outcomes and cost efficiency.

The recommendations outlined in this submission refer to work published in Deeble Issues Brief No. 37: Measuring value in new health technology assessments: a focus on robotic surgery in public hospitals.
