Part A of the Code sets out the principles and practices of responsible research conduct and Part B of the Code outlines a process by which institutions should manage breaches of the Code and allegations of research misconduct.
The Code is currently being reviewed, with the assistance of a Code Review Committee, chaired by Professor Mike
Calford. The review will take into account recent changes in relation to the conduct of research, including the
adoption of open access policies, new rules surrounding the management of conflicts of interest, the development
of guidance around changes to Australia’s export control regime and recent experience in managing allegations of
research misconduct.
