Associate Professor Nicole Rankin is Head of the Evaluation and Implementation Science Unit in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. She leads a team of 29 researchers and doctoral students focused on research translation, including how interventions can be rapidly translated into practice and policy. Nicole is principal investigator on lung cancer screening grants (NHMRC and MRFF) and is a leading implementation scientist on projects across the cancer continuum, genomics, primary care and musculoskeletal care. She is a member of the Global Policy Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the Expert Advisory Committee for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. Nicole is internationally recognised for her contributions to building capacity in implementation science and translational research to improve health outcomes for people with lung cancer. Nicole was awarded the Leslie (Les) J. Fleming Churchill Fellowship in 2020 and the Lung Foundation Australia Lung Health Legend Award in 2024.
