Is there compelling evidence for using the arts in health care?

In 2012, a national arts and health policy framework was proposed, advocating for whole-of-government engagement to enhance arts and health initiatives for community well-being. This framework is intended to aid health providers in evaluating existing programs, exploring new directions, and identifying community partners to leverage the arts for treatment improvement and health enhancement. This evidence brief provides a brief overview of the evidence supporting the effectiveness of arts and health strategies across the spectrum of population needs, emphasising arts-based practices in clinical contexts while also incorporating evidence related to arts and health in the community.
