Interest in partnerships and collaboration within primary health is on the rise. Global primary health reforms are increasingly adopting concepts of partnerships, collaboration, and alliances, signalling a move away from individual care models toward systems thinking. The literature often uses terms such as collaboration, partnership, alliance, coalition, and joint-working interchangeably. Partnerships involving professionals, spanning sectors, and incorporating consumers enhance organisational capacity to enhance both individual and population health while mitigating health risks.
