The ICHOM Breast Cancer Learning Collaborative is a global, two-year initiative aimed at improving breast cancer care by focusing on patient-centered outcomes and value-based healthcare.
Among breast cancer patients, standardized outcomes such as complication rates, recurrence, and mortality have long been reported. While still relevant, these measures fail to capture the full patient experience. Patient-reported outcomes—which reflect what truly matters to patients—have historically been poorly defined and inconsistently collected.
At ICHOM, we aim to standardize the collection of these outcomes over time, creating an international benchmarking tool to improve current practices and assess future interventions.
Through global collaboration across leading health systems in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Australia, this project fosters continuous quality improvement, ensuring scalable, patient-centered innovations in breast cancer care worldwide.
