The Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) announced today the appointment of Mr John Gregg as Chief Executive, following the retirement of its current Chief Executive, Adjunct Professor Alison Verhoeven in June.

‘On behalf of the Board of AHHA, I would like to thank Alison Verhoeven who is retiring after an outstanding eight years as Chief Executive and welcome John Gregg,’ AHHA Chair, the Hon Jillian Skinner, said today.

‘John comes to AHHA after a distinguished career in the health and community services sectors in Australia and internationally, and most recently as Chief Executive of the North Queensland Primary Health Network.

‘John’s experience working across many areas of health and community services provides him with an excellent understanding of the contemporary issues facing AHHA members and health policy makers.

‘He is passionately committed to health reforms which will ensure a better integrated health system, and which aim to achieve both the outcomes that matter to patients, and high quality safe healthcare which represents value for patients, governments and society.

‘On behalf of the AHHA Board, staff and members, I welcome John to AHHA and look forward to working with him to promote the benefits of a strong public health care sector for Australia,’ Mrs Skinner said.

 John Gregg commences his role as AHHA Chief Executive on Monday 21 June.
